About the dictionary

Since January, 1^st 2004 the «Dictionary of petroleum and natural gas terms» (English-Russian-Italian-French) is kindly provided by LingInfo, a company specialized in technical translations for petroleum industry.

The dictionary contains about 95 000 terms related to the development of oil and gas fields and the construction of oil and gas facilities.

Whilst compiling this dictionary, LingInfo used periodicals, monographs, technical dictionaries, catalogues and training manuals on geology, geophysics, onshore and offshore drilling, completions, production, reservoir engineering, refining and transportation. Great attention was paid to international standards and specifications, especially ISO and API documents.

On the basis of this four-languages dictionary, LingInfo prepared and published the «English-Italian and Italian-English technical dictionary on oil and gas». More information about this book is available at www.linginfo.it/eng/dictionary/industrial/.
